Sinulog, one of the Philippines biggest festivals is celebrated in Cebu on the 3rd weekend of January! It all centres around a colourful dance ritual in honor of the image of Santo Nino(the Christ Child). Sinulog gets its name from the Cebuano term current (of the river) and the street dancers mimic this current in their dance. The whole of Cebu comes alive with bands, concerts, Miss Cebu beauty contest and so many more activities. Cebu really goes off this weekend and its great way to meet the locals .
